Risk continues to fall, but the risk of infection is still very real: we expect cases to be transmitted in 1 to 2 counties this week. No new positive mosquito pools were reported this week, and it appears that the WNV system has finally begun to stall. This is good news overall, but individuals should still limit exposure and use personal protection (e.g. spray repellents) when appropriate. Fogging will have less of an impact on cases, since the virus is no longer replicating as rapidly.
