We are in the height of the season in an above-average WNV year. We expect that around 12 to 13 counties will report at least one human case. Temperatures have returned to normal for this week, but normal for this week is still hot, and humidity is higher than usual. In addition, we have received a large number of mosquito pool data, and around 2% of these are positive. This year best resembles 2016, in which there were more than 150 reported human cases.
